Having a Will is one of the most important financial planning documents to have, especially as your move towards retirement. Unfortunately, the majority of our population do not have wills  or any other estate planning documents due to the fact that they do not want to think about their mortality. Furthermore, they don’t want to spend money to have someone advise them on this. It is just this reason that do-it-yourself programs have proliferated the market over the internet. One can go online and create a Will in the comfort of their own home for  a fraction of the cost had a lawyer prepared the Will. While I may be biased in my opinion here since I am a lawyer, I urge you to read this article from Forbes.com. As you will read, so many things can go wrong doing this on your own with the consequences being so terribly contrary to what the person making the do-it-yourself will intended.
